Translation form of depot fat in starvation.

چکیده
Gordon et all-3 suggested that the transport of depot fat to the site of utilization probably takes place in the form of free fatty acid (unesterified fatty acid). Under both normal and abnormal circumstances, the amount of free fatty acid is very small in the serum and liver occupying only 1/4-1/5 of triglyceride or phospholipid. The portion derived from dietary fat is transported mainly in the lymph and then in the blood in the form of triglyceride (chylomicron) to be deposited as it is. We have therefore used fasting albino rats to measure triglyceride and free fatty acid in the serum and liver, suggesting thereby the transport of depot fatty acid in the form of triglyceride instead of free fatty aid.4 Further experiments have revealed the occurrence of transportation in the form of a low density lipoprotein, as reported below.

Regulation of Energy Stores and Feeding by Neuronal and Peripheral CREB Activity in Drosophila
The cAMP-responsive transcription factor CREB functions in adipose tissue and liver to regulate glycogen and lipid metabolism in mammals. While Drosophila has a homolog of mammalian CREB, dCREB2, its role in energy metabolism is not fully understood. Using tissue-specific expression of a dominant-negative form of CREB (DN-CREB), we have examined the effect of blocking CREB activity in neurons a...
متن کاملMorphological changes in the adipocyte during fat deposition and mobilization.
777-782 l I967* -Total lipid analyses and semiautomatic measurements of adipocyte diameter were carried out on the epididymal fat depots of rats during growth, starvation, and refeeding. Protein, glyceride, and DNA analyses were performed on isolated epididymal adipocytes from rats of differing body fatness. The fat content of the epididymal depot was a linear function of adipocyte volume betwe...
متن کاملTackling the human adipose tissue proteome to gain insight into obesity and related pathologies.
Obesity is becoming an important public health problem given its strong association with insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes. Previously considered an inert depot, fat is now regarded as a highly metabolically active tissue in many pathophysiological processes. In humans, the accumulation of omental rather than subcutaneous adipose tissue appears to be tightly linked to cardiovascular diseas...
متن کاملThe fatty acid and glyceride structures of Indian buffalo milk and depot fats, and some characteristics of eastern animal fats.
This work describes the fatty acid and glyceride structures of Indian buffalo milk and depot fats. Only three other an4lyses of buffalo milk fat exist in the literature (Bhattacharya & Hilditch, 1931; Heiduschka & Cicekdagi, 1940), in only one of which was an examination made of the glyceride configuration, while no analysis of buffalo depot fat has so far been reported. The work below was ther...
متن کاملThe effect of diet on the development of the adipose organ.
The possibility that an infant’s diet may influence the later development of obesity or of atheroma gives this subject its interest and importance. The concept of the body’s depot fat as constituting an ‘organ’ is probably a useful one, but only so long as it does not lead to unwarranted simplification. For instance, samples of depot fat taken from the adipose tissue of a baby’s buttock tend to...
